Role Models for Rookie Managers

Being, I think, a relatively rookie manager, I was immediately drawn to this post on the Harvard Business Blog. The author suggests Barney Miller as a role model for new and aspiring managers. I, however, prefer Dr. Jack Shephard from Lost. He's bold, decisive, inspiring, and focused on the well-being of those he leads. Anybody else got any good ideas?
